How this works?

  • Old Vanguard Units are compared with their V-Series retrains of the SAME NAME.
  • Will be compared with the 1st iteration of the unit.
  • Series will be following the JP format’s release order.
  • Has 1 of 3 possible conclusions/verdicts:
    • (Good) Upgrade/Buff
    • (Bad) Downgrade/Nerf
    • (Neutral) Schrodinger’s Patch

      • Ability now activates “When attacking” instead of “Attacking a Vanguard“.
      • Ability now depends on the total grades of cards Soul Blast for its cost.
        • If 5 or more, all front row units gain +10000 power.
        • If 7 or more, stand 2 rear guards.
        • If 9 or more, draw 2 cards.
    4. [AUTO] #2,
      • Guardians sent to the drop zone can no longer be sent to soul.
      • Ability Cost increased to “[Soul Blast (3)]“.
      • Ability Cost must be paid once per unit.
      • Ability now activates when a unit is placed on (GC).
      • Ability now gives units called to GC +10000 shield for that battle.

  • V-format meme boss.
  • Premium interactions with Guardians go brrrr.
  • This is the work of a Genesis STAND.
  • Probably an Agent of Shields.

Apple Witch, Cider

  • Base Power increased from 7000 to 8000.
  • Base Shield increased from 5000 to 10000.
  • Updated abilities:
    1. New Ability – “[AUTO] [RC]: At the end of the battle this unit boosted, you may “Soul Charge (1), and return this unit to your hand” or “Soul Charge (2)“.”
    2. [AUTO] #2,
      • Ability no longer needs to be placed on (GC) from hand.
      • Removed “If you have a Vanguard with “Regalia” in name“.
      • Removed [AUTO] ability given to the Vanguard.
      • Ability Cost increased to “[put a card from your hand into your soul]“.
      • Ability now gives this unit +5000 shield for every 3 cards in soul.

Verdict: Buff

  • Actual Witch support, duh.
  • No more ‘Regalia’ while not having the sub-clan name ‘support’.
  • Tactical Grade 1 to Soul Charge spam or Soul Charge and retreat.

    2. New Ability – “[ACT] [1/Turn]: COST [Counter Blast (1)], choose two of your opponent’s rear-guards, [Rest] them, and they cannot [Stand] during the next stand phase. If this unit is on (VC), this unit gets all of the chosen units’ original [Power] until end of turn.
    3. Removed – “[CONT] [VC/RC]: If you have a non-<Megacolony> vanguard or rear-guard, this unit gets [Power]-2000.”.
    4. [AUTO] #1,
      • Ability no longer has “Limit Break 4”.
      • Ability now activates “When attacking” instead of “Attacking a Vanguard“.
      • Ability Cost reduced to “[Counter Blast (1) & discard a card from your hand]“.
      • Ability no longer chooses opponent’s rear guards.
      • Ability now gives +1 Drive for every 3 rear guards in rest. (Both you and your opponent’s.)

Verdict: Buff

  • You will go to the Zoo-gabah System, and find the Master Beetle that trained me.
  • Ok V-format Boss, excellent vs decks with field presence, sucks if they do not.
  • Premium Gyze candidate?
  • Card does not say “Gravity Aura!” anymore in its flavor text. D;

Machining Armor Beetle

  • Updated abilities:
    1. New Ability – “[CONT] (RC): If this unit is [Rest], all of your opponent’s rear-guards in the same column as this unit lose “Intercept” and “Boost”, and cannot gain them.”.
    2. [AUTO] is now an [ACT] ability.
      • Ability no longer requires a “<Megacolony> Vanguard“.
      • Ability Cost changed to “[[Rest] another rear-guard]“.
      • Ability now forces an opponent’s rear guard to rest, and gives +6000 power until end of turn.

Verdict: Buff

  • Pretty good anti-offense Grade 2 for Megacolony.
  • V-format staple for sure, silencing opponent’s boosts are great.
  • Premium Gyze support? :pog:
  • This some X-Com looking Muton armor.

Brillian Blister

  • Base Power increased from 6000 to 8000.
  • Base Shield increased from 5000 to 10000.
  • Updated abilities:
    1. New Ability – “[AUTO] (Back Row RC): At the end of your turn, if your opponent has no rear-guards at [Stand], you may return this unit to your hand. Then, if you returned it to your hand, and your hand has six or less, COST [Soul Blast (1)], and draw a card.”.
    2. [AUTO] #2
      • Ability now requires the opponent’s Vanguard to be in Rest.
      • Ability Cost increased to “[Soul Blast (1) & discard a card from your hand]“.
      • Ability now chooses an opponent’s rear guard instead of Vanguard.
      • Ability forces the chosen rear guard to rest.

Verdict: Schrodinger’s Patch

  • Semi-nerf compared to the original.
  • Excellent for silencing restanding rear-guard gimmicks, but requiring the opponent’s Vanguard to be in Rest limits the potential.
  • V-format Draw engine for Megas, otherwise there’s better G1s to run.
  • Premium may still play the original Blister instead.
